SET is a card game of speed where each person is trying to find as many “SETs” as fast as they can. In SET, a card has four attributes (color, pattern, shape, number) with three variations each, and a SET is three cards with either all the same or all different attributes of a feature.

Growing up, this was my favorite card game, and I always wanted to digitize it so it could be played in new formats. This project is a conceptual digitation of the game SET into mobile phones with multiple players as part of a visual communication course at Holon Institute of Technology.

Growing up, this was my favorite card game, and I always wanted to digitize it so it could be played in new formats. This project is a conceptual digitation of the game SET into mobile phones with multiple players as part of a visual communication course at Holon Institute of Technology.
From the start, I knew I wanted it to include a social element and extend beyond the phone screen. A key part of the concept became incorporating an outdoor experience, allowing players to choose the card’s pattern based on their surroundings. In my digitized concept, the card game’s pattern element was removed and instead has to be discovered in the user’s enviornment.

The idea behind digitizing the game was to enhance its social aspect by allowing players to approve patterns before they’re finalized. Although the game is still in its conceptual phase, the shapes and patterns allowed me to develop a rich visual language. The project culminated in a refreshed visual design and a promotional video:
